Canadian disco singer France Joli will make a return appearance at off-Broadway's My Big Gay Italian Wedding, when she will appear as the wedding officiator for one-night-only on July 20. Directed by Teresa A. Cicala and written by Anthony J. Wilkinson, My Big Gay Italian Wedding is currently playing at St. Luke’s Theatre.
My Big Gay Italian Wedding originally premiered at the Actor’s Playhouse in 2003, before a revamped version of the production moved to St. Luke’s Theatre in 2010. My Big Gay Italian Wedding has featured special appearances by cast members of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Lance Bass, Tabatha Coffey, Vincent Pastore, Dr. Joy Browne and more. Featuring larger-than life gay, Italian characters, the kooky comedy satirizes the controversy surrounding same-sex marriage.
Joli’s first single “Come to Me” sold 3 million copies globally, reaching number 15 on the Billboard charts. Her additional dance hits include “Gonna Get Over You,” “The Heart to Break the Heart” and “Feel Like Dancing.”
